Regular Faculty Profile

Ph.D. University of Arizona. Anthony (Thony) Gillies works on problems in philosophy of language (formal semantics and pragmatics) and epistemology (belief revision and defeasible reasoning). A lot of this work has to do with modality and conditionals (in both thought and talk) and their associated dynamics (in both thought and talk). Before coming to Rutgers, he taught at the University of Michigan, Harvard University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
