The Center hosts a weekly reading group to discuss recent work in the philosophy of religion. Visitors to the reading group have included Bryan Frances (Fordham), Steve Wykstra (Calvin), William Lane Craig (Talbot), and Eleonore Stump (St. Louis University).
Topics covered in recent readings have included the problem of evil, disagreement, skeptical theism, fine-tuning, God and time, and the relationship between theism and modality.
The group meets this semester (Spring 2024) on Fridays from 2:30-4:30pm (we may move this a bit earlier later on if our Jewish members need the shift for their Sabbath obligations).
The meeting is held in the department seminar room with the option to participate via Zoom. If you are interested in participating, please contact the reading group coordinator, Brian Leftow (
